Internship

June 8, 2010 – 2:21 pm by David Kraus

My name is David Kraus. I’m interning her at Spruce Industries. So far I have met with many company reps that have told me all about their products.  Each day I’m seeing a new innovative idea that I could see myself selling to many different companies in the future.  I plan on starting with company’s i’m familiar with, some of which are owned by my family or by friends.  I have learned so much from the company’s owner Hank Josephs.  I had the privilege of hearing from Hanks clients what they thought there relationship should be like with a sales associate.  They explained there relationship with Hank and why they would only buy from his company.  It was very helpful to listen to the clients.  It seems that there’s something about honesty that wins a customers business.

  2. Today i met with a few accounts they all explained to me about the business of selling janitorial supplies. Some said more than others but overall there two cents was helpful.

  3. I’m learning more and more everyday. At this point i feel comfortable chiming into a conversation with a customer because i feel like i know what im talking about for the most part. At fist this was almost impossible but, after a week or two I understand the products that are being sold and the applications of the products. This makes it alot easier to communicate with customers.

  4. I’ve been making cold calls over the phone the past week. Its been difficult overcoming the rejection but, its exciting to have someone give your the time of day. Especially when they decide to invite you to have a meeting with them. This coming week I have one set appointment on Wednesday with a maid service that does industrial and house cleaning. It seems like an ok account but, I’m really not sure how large the company is.
